OLVAXTAR-MEN has Group A, C, Y, W135 meningococcal polysaccharide antigens which induce humoral immune response and prevents cerebrospinal meningitis.

Meningitis is basically the infection of lining/membrane of the brain and spinal cord. The signs and symptoms include sudden onset of fever, headache and stiff neck. Other accompanying symptoms may be nausea, vomiting, photophobia and altered mental status.

Bacterial meningitis can turn out be very deadly and requires immediate medical attention. If meningitis is left untreated then it leads to death. People do recover from meningitis but permanent disabilities like brain damage, learning disabilities and hearing loss can result from the infection.

So if you really care about your loved ones then OLVAXTAR-MEN is a great way to prevent this dreadful disease.

Infants, children, preteenagers, teenagers and adults are all eligible candidates for OLVAXTAR-MEN vaccine because anyone can get meningococcal disease but certain people who are at an increased risk are:

• Infants younger than 1 year old
• People who have an affected immune system due to certain medical conditions
• Microbiologists who have a routine of working with isolates of Neisseria meningitidis
•  Adolescents and young adults aged between 16 through 23 years
•  People at risk because of an outbreak in the community

Step 1; Reconstitute the vaccine with accompanying PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline).

Step 2; Inject the vaccine after reconstitution in the deltoid muscle of lateral upper arm.

Each single human dose for OLVAXTAR-MEN is 0.5ml containing 200 µg of meningococcal polysaccharide (50 µg of Group A, C, Y, W₁₃₅ polysaccharide respectively).
